Pastoral Care
At the Church of the Holy Apostles, pastoral care is an integrated ministry of caring lead by both clergy and lay ministers.
Overseeing the pastoral care of parishioners is the Rector, the Rev. Katrina Grusell. Ordained as an Episcopal priest, the Rev. Grusell brings to her pastoral ministry a background in healthcare and education in psychology. Among her responsibilities, the Rev. Grusell handles crisis ministry within the congregation, attends to and oversees visitation of the sick, administers the sacraments, and supports the Pastoral Care Committee in its ministry.
The Pastoral Care Committee is a compassionate group of lay ministers dedicated to the ministry of caring. This committee encompasses several different ministries: Lay Eucharistic Visitors, the Newcomers Ministry, the Meal Ministry, and Card Ministry. The committee has also been tasked with overseeing handicapped accessibility issues within the parish.
At the Church of the Holy Apostles we strive to provide a healthy, supportive environment for your spiritual journey. In our parish, wellness is encouraged and celebrated! And, those who need pastoral support will either receive it through our pastoral ministries or will be guided to appropriate resources. We ask that when you are in pastoral need, you communicate that directly to the Rector or Rosemary Vaughan, the chair of the pastoral Care Committee.
